It all started in 2018, when Roxy responded to an ad for a room in a share house near her friend in Prahran, meeting Jack who was running late and in a slightly dishevelled state (perhaps struck by Roxy’s beauty?), giving the successful “tour” of the house and setting in motion what began as housemates, and blossomed into love.

Fast forward to New Year’s Eve 2019, when they decided to stop pretending and actually date.

The pandemic hit in 2020 and they managed to escape the madness to Tasmania, settling down in Sandy Bay around the corner from Jack’s family (a different kind of madness 😊).

Returning to the “mainland” in 2021, they moved to South Melbourne. More adventures followed, and they went up to Queensland, where Roxy introduced Jack to her family, who was warmly received by Carolyn, Bill and Max.

R&J began their love affair with live music and events in the coming years; Europe was their next big trip, spending Roxy’s 30th in Italy before coming back to Melbourne to celebrate once more with family and friends in style.

In late 2023, they bought their first home together! Jack was immediately put to work in the garden, while Roxy busied herself planning and supervising. In the winter of 2024, they defrosted in Palm Cove—the place where Roxy grew up.

But the best part? Exactly five years to the day since they started dating, on New Years Eve in 2024, Jack got down on one knee at the aptly named “Diamond Bay” in Sorrento and popped the question.

And so, the story of Jack and Roxy continues, but now, it’s got a ring to it—literally.
